Can I Get Insurance?

Here is my story.
I stuffed my boat into a large powerboat wake 3 weeks ago and the boat was totaled. The insurance claim was a bit over $25,000.
I'm am looking into the possibility of buying another boat but I need to know if I can get insurance.
My previous insurance company, Progressive, will no longer insure a boat that goes over 60mph regardless of my record.
One other company I contacted said they cannot insure someone that had more than a $10,000 claim recently.
Anyway, I'm looking into boats 26 to 30 feet that would most likely be powered by a 415HP/502Mag and reach a top speed somewhere between 60 and 70mph. The value of the boat would be between 30 and $40,000.
I am 40 years old, married, and I have a clean motor vehicle record.
Help please…

I just got a Progressive policy yesterday and the limits were 75 MPH and max 500 HP per engine. The story w/ them changes depending on who you talk to. I called Progressive directly and they said they don't insure my model of boat but the local rep had no problems getting a Progressive policy. Go figure.

That is exactly my problem.
I had a 24' with 415HP that went 75mph insured with them. Now I want to buy a bigger, slower boat and they told me no.
60mph, 390HP, were the limits for a 30' boat...????

Sounds familiar. I had a 1986, 78 mph 22' Donzi Classic w/ 485 HP that I've had insured w/ Progressive for a couple years and the speed of that boat was never an issue so I was suprised when they originally didn't want to insure the larger slower boat. The new boat is a 1995 28' Pantera Sport w/ the same 485 HP motor. Sorry to hear about your SuperBoat but here's the contact info for the guy I used. BTW, the insurance went from about $500 per year on the Donzi to about $1,500 on the Pantera. Good luck.
