Actual Cash Value vs Agreed Value (or even better - Replacement Cost), deductibles etc. Markel has a great market for your boat with VERY reasonable rates. You have MANY MANY choices on where you go. When you own a boat under 26 feet and UNDER 65mph you qualify for almost every program. As Insurance God said, make sure you have an agreed value policy, it's worth the extra couple of bucks you'll spend to have it.

Non-boat specialists love to say "no" to claims. All the big insurers will write this- especially if it's a homeowner with autos all with the same carrier.

People love to ignore this simple fact- the only part of insurance that really matters is when they're paying a claim, not the premium price. If you don't mind mailing a monthly check only to hear "no" when you have a problem, mail the check to me. Hell, I'll even cut your rates in half!
