Question for the Insurance GURU

Got my first performance boat in August. State Farm gave me a policy for two months and then decided they did not want to cover it anymore. Boat is a 260 Sonic Prowler, nothing extreme, top speed is around 60mph. I had three speeding tickets on my record and Im 26, not married. To say the least it was hard for me to find an insurance company for a reasonable price. I went with progressive for the cost, I have heard they are not the best. I got my fourth speeding ticket on Christmas day, yeah a great gift. Is this going to spike my insurance? Possible cancel of policy? Just wanting a heads up so I dont get blind sided at the first of the season.

thanks for the info
Kyle

Hey Kyle,

Progressive will likely keep you. I've never had them cancel a client for MVR violations. Progressive will typically take any kind of driving record. I would recommend staying with Progressive until your tickets start falling off your record. Having a bad MVR and being "young" in the eyes of the insurance company will always mean high rates for you.
I wouldn't worry about them cancelling you. Just keep paying your premiums and don't let your insurance lapse or fall behind.

State Farm did the same thing to me. I am with Stacey now. I moved all of my insurance off SF after they cancelled me on July 3rd effective 11:59 - Pissed me off. (Oh - and I've never had a claim or ticket).

To that point you really ought to get your driving record cleaned up some. It saves incredible amounts of money over time....

well I looked at when my tickets were going to fall off my record. I had one fall off in October of this year, so I'm staying strong at three on my record. Thanks for the replies all.

As for SF they give me really good rates on my two trucks, have never went up on rates because of tickets. Agent said they were not going to carry high performance boats at all, but I still know a few people that have high performance boats through them.

Life goes on, you got to pay if you want to play right......

Bend over and plead with the judge to toss it out.
Defensive driving class...
Pay any fine as long as he holds the points in probation...
Etc. etc.

I couldn't find ANY insurance for my 38KV Scarab in Florida until I hired Stacy!

Now I am insured....!
