Got a 130-140mph CAT or V that you need to insure? Wake Zone has a NEW solution!
I am so excited to announce that Wake Zone can now offer you yet another alternative for your fast boat insurance.
After surveying the boating community a couple months back, the one "constant" that I heard was that boaters wanted more options for their FAST boats. Well, in an effort to continue to deliver the boating community what it desires. We have an A rated, admitted insurer for those of you with boats capable of OVER 130mph!
Here is a brief overview:
- NO FLORIDA
- NO FIRST TIME CAT OWNERS
- NO SOUTHERN LOUISIANA
- NO MAJOR VIOLATIONS ON MVR (CARELESS, DUI, RECKLESS ETC)
- NO PRIOR BOATING LOSSES
Who qualifies?
- EXPERIENCED BOAT OWNERS
- MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS OVER 100MPH OWNERSHIP EXPERIENCE
- NO MVR VIOLATIONS
- Boat less than 15 years old
- Maxium value $500,000
- Marine survey is required for boat 10 -15 years old.
- If custom engines, they must be reputable builder - no "home built" engines.
OUTLINE OF COVERAGE AVAILABLE
- Agreed Value
- Limits to $1M
- 2% - 10% deductibles
- Unlimited trailering
- Option for Lay up
- Poker runs OK
- No Full Time Florida mooring but trip endorsements available
Everything is subject to Company approval of completed application.
If you have a boat that is capable of over 130mph and fits the above criteria and you are not insured with Wake Zone, you owe it to yourself to get a quote from us!
Request one here: http://www.wakezoneinsurance.com/Quote_form.html
I am not promising that we can save you money, but I am pretty sure that 80% of the time, if you qualify, we will.
I look forward to hearing from you! More details to follow as they become available.

This has been very successful in getting a lot of the experienced boaters (especially CAT guys) some AWESOME rates on their coverage lately...
Here are some examples of what has recently been written in the past month with this particular carrier:
50' Outerlimits @ 140mph $500K Value in MA w/FL - $10,358
36' Skater CAT @ 136mph $250K Value in TX- $5,821
40' Nortech CAT @135mph $450K value in NJ- $4,368
36' Nortech CAT @137mph $300K Value in IN - $7,122
40' MTI CAT @ 133mph $500K value in CA - $8,722
(there are a lot of factors that go into rating an account so it is impossible to explain on here why a $450K boat premium nearly matches a $250K boat... ) Just keep that in mind while looking at the rates.
This program is AWESOME if you have a minimum of 5-7 years of CAT ownership experience on over 100mph vessels with a very clean record. If you have a good looking boating resume, chances are we can give you a good lookin' quote to match!
If you're interested in a quote, feel free to give me a call to see if you qualify. Talk to you soon!

The carrier basically won't write in the areas around Pontchartrain and New Orleans area claiming that there is still excessive debris in the waters that never got cleaned up from Katrina.... we've asked them to reconsider so many times that it's gotten to the point that we don't even bother asking anymore.
I see where they are coming from but I also don't and often fight them hard, especially when someone is in the Baton Rouge area. I have many clients in the New Orleans area and they have never submitted a claim. In fact, the claims ratio in that area for our agency is virtually 0%! We keep telling this carrier about our other experiences but as of now, they will not budge.

Figured I would share the coverage and policy form behind the rates above.
- All values are based on agreed value coverage.
- All liability is $500,000 or more and is P&I liability.
- Pollution liability to $800,000. Salvage to 100% of vessel value.
- All quotes include: Uninsured boater coverage to match the liability; medical payments, towing, personal effects and trailer coverage.
- The policies also have an unlimited trailering radius and allow for replacement cost on engines and trailers up to 5 years old

What a bunch of dumb asses thats been 0ver 5 yrs ago!! We boated right after Katrina with no problems!! Four large poker runs every year not counting that normal boating is almost year around and dont know of one person who has hit anything above or below the water!! Do they relize this lake drains into the gulf of mexico 24hrs a day? Its not a closed shore!! Wow maybe they shouldnt right car insurance upnorth because of all the snow this year!!! TWO WORDS Elton Porter!!!
We have ZERO authority over their guidelines and often times (like this one) their reasons don't make a bit of sense. But at this time, there isn't anything we can do about it. Declining accounts due to location doesn't help us write policies and therfore doesn't make us money.... so I don't support their decision, especially when there is no solid evidence to support the decision they made.

Hey Hot Pursuit thanks for the plug you have been added to the cool people list! Yes unfortunatley insurance companies seem to make irrational decisions sometimes but as stacy said we, as the agents, do not have the final say in their decision making process. If we did these polcies would be much less restricting (regarding navigational area) than they already are.
