Used Boat Value

I am considering buying a used semi-submarine 53' vessel for a business venture. How do I know what a fair market price is for the vessel. Are there price books like there are for cars (i.e.-Kelley's Blue Book, Edmunds, etc)?
Thanks,
rws000

Blue book on a submarine??? Sounds like you just need to know how much money you can make with it and how much it is going to cost to maintain then go from there

I was wondering mainly trying to anticipate how a bank or marine financing company would look at it with regards to it's loan value to equity, etc.

Chances are nobody will finance it.

OH I disagree, some HOMBRE's in Columbia will finance it and supply the crew, you better switch to an untrackable internet connection.:evilb::eek:

Boat Value

Get a marine condition and value survey. Fair Market Value is part of the survey and recogized by financial and insurance companies if the survey is completed by a SAMS or NAMS Surveyor.

If your bank wont use it as collateral for the loan you will have better luck using personal type loan. There are much fewer regulations in this case. BOL

dont know what you are talking about. And you usually have to find experts to tell you what something is worth on odd things like this. Otherwise get the company and call and ask them what they think. I beleive there are loan companies that cater to exotic things like. But remember the old rule, its only worth what somebodys willing to pay for it.
