Hello,
I am currently looking to purchase A new boat for Family recreation, and not very experience with anything of such nature. I am currently living in Indiana, and would like to get some personall opinions on what Insurance company actually has the best deals, i know what kind of boat affects the rate but in general they has to be a more popular company that doesnt seem to to get over on ya,

Got to the search box in the lower left part of the upper header. Enter "Insurance" and you will find threads on insurance. Also check into the OSO insurance sponsors that are flashing all over this page.

Insurance For A Novice Boater
I agree with GRIFF,this is where a new boater should get his boat insurance and in fact is probably the only place that it would be available.

Hi Kevin,
Welcome to OSO, What you have already read on this page is very valid. If you have your homeowners/auto through a reputable company they may be able write a boat policy for you at a fair price; however as stacy said there are multiple markets for regular low risk boats that you may have more luck with, sometimes these polcies may offer different coverage options you wont find through your standard market.
One thing i will say is that you shouldnt always look for the "cheapest price". If you find a rate that is acceptable to you check in on the company, most importantly there financial strength and future outlook. You dont want to end up with a company that doesnt have the capability to pay a claim or defend you if a major claim does occur. reference: IWSF.
BTW check out turbojack's statement he knows whats up
Good Luck with everything!
