I got schooled on boat insurance recently while upgrading to a larger boat. Most of the companies won't insure for various reasons. They will ask you questions that determine if you are higher risk. One company had a 50mph limit, another had 1000 hp limit with 70 mph limit, another wouldn't insure anything over 29', another one would not insure for a predetermined value. You can find it. I wound up with progressive. Boat USA was also an option for me.

Farmers had the 50 mph limit for boats over 30'. State farm had the limit on boats over 70mph. Progressive had no speed restriction as long as under 1000 hp. Geico would not insure due to "high performance".
I got in a pickle with my new purchase in a 900 mile transit uninsured. I have used same state farm agent for 20 years, 14 properties, life, auto, boats, atv's. Made payment for insurance only to get a call 3 days later while boat was in transit to here underwriting kicked it out. I had to find something quick and didn't know about companies that specialize in boat insurance. |

If that doesn't work, we have 3 carriers that we are appointed with in Mississippi that will write your boat insurance that specialize in performance boats. I don't know what kind of rate you got but I'd be happy to see if we can get you better AND less expensive coverage... |
