It's really going to depend upon your boat and what kind of horsepower you have. If you have stock engines and are under 75mph top speed then I have a very inexpensive option for you. If you are legitimately over 75mph then I would say that Markel would probably write liability only but you're going to have to get a full marine survey to do it. Our other carrier's won't write just liability only on your boat.

Let me know if you fit into the category above.

Have your policy changed to "full replacement cost for all parts". Depreciated value on the parts, will never get your costs covered.

You need to contest this. A freind of mine had a 69 Charger RT 440 4 speed got rear ended . Insurance co said hey its old! Will give you 1200! Naw dont think so he had to get tons of docs from car clubs and it took a long time but after it was all said and one they cut a check for 19k. Me I would fight! I mean what the used of having full coverage if there not going to take care you. Tell your going to take it to the Attorney Generals office of your state turn em over to BB etc stir up some s##T anymore you got to fight for every last dime or you get screwed! :bsflag:

Is there such a thing as a "stated value" policy for older boats? about ten years ago I did a "rotisserie" restoration on a '68 Z/28 Camaro and had a "Stated Value" policy on it for $35K. If I recall there was an annual mileage limit of 5K miles but I never got close to that. I had un-insured motorist on it also. One night at a "Cruise In" at a local restaurant, some turd knocked a hell of a dent in the passenger side door with the door of his POS work truck and hauled ass when I yelled at him. My insurance paid for the $1000 re-finish (12 coats of Ditzler Deltron Black base coat/clear coat) of the door less a $250 deductible.

I see some boats like "Broken Arrow", a 41' Apache that looks so clean you could perform surgery on it, at the Poker Runs down here. Surely they have some "double throw down" boat insurance for these older rigs.

Just wondering.

Bad Ass...find out who your State Representative is for your district and bring them in on this one along with a complaint to your state insurance commissioner.
Remember....squeaky wheel gets the grease.:evilb:
