Hi Andrew - Got your email and have responded. I only think it's fair if I partially address your statement here on OSO so that people do not take your comment the wrong way. We first spoke in 2009 and have never spoken since. We are not licensed in ME and therefore could not write a policy for you or offer you a quote. When we spoke you needed to get a policy. I helped you out by just simply going online and doing a quote at Progressive Direct. I emailed over the Progressive direct quote to you to finish up on your own and purchase through them direct. I don't show that we had any other contact after that until now.

I thought I would address our agency's relationship with Progressive at this time as well. In 2010 I made a decision to have our agency stop writing new policies with Progressive due to the experiences our clients were having with them (our client have had both good and bad claims experiences). Now, there were times when a client didn't care who the carrier was and took them because it was their ONLY way to get insurance... meaning Progressive was the only carrier willing to write coverage for them. So their choice was Progressive or nothing... some chose Progressive. We've also had clients come to us and say they didn't care what they had as long as it was the cheapest. While that is not our mode of operation, we can't force someone to do something they don't want to do. We are gradually transitioning the policies we have left on the books with Progressive to other carriers. But there are some instances where no other carrier will write them and they have to remain with Progressive. Changes occur with carriers and we as agents, need to stay on top of it and make the appropriate changes in our agency. In 2010 we did just that, we made a change and stopped writing new business with Progressive unless absolutely necessary.

I sent you some suggestions of where you can go to try to obtain alternate coverage, carriers that we've represented from day one. I really hope those help and you are able to find an alternate carrier that you feel comfortable with. Let me know if you have any questions Andrew and thank you for emailing me. Have a great night!

Thanks again for the referrals Stacy, and thank you for posting the clarification above. I can see how it might have been intepreted differently if someone did not know the backdrop. The Progressive policy I have looks great on paper, and have not had a reason to file any claims, but have heard nothing but negative experiences with them and am coming up on a renewal. Sorry we could not have worked together this time. There is always the next boat...
Again, highly recommend Wake Zone to anyone looking for insurance.
