Well after my State Farm agent went to bat for me after they cancelled the binder on the 35' Lightning, State Farm still turned me down. Went with a company recommended on OSO with a good rate and decent coverage after receiving Terms and Conditions emailed by agent. Sent the check and got the policy in the mail with an endorsement page that excludes coverage unless boat stored in a locked building or locked fenced area. Can't live with that, so agent says he will return my premium check. Let's see what happens. Stacy at Wake Zone hooked me up with a competitive rate on a policy I can live with. I highly recommend her as I guess you "get what you pay for". Thanks Stacy.

When I was looking for insurance, State Farm did the same thing. They said they won't insure a boat that will run over 75mph so I got the same letter... I would have went with Stacy, but at the time she didn't have coverage for where I'm located.. She was really great to deal with though... Some things are just not in your control...

And this is the perfect example of how there is absolutely NO rhyme or reason to the watercraft underwriting done at SF. I honestly question if they even have a set of guidelines that they go by for watercraft insurance.... there are so many different stories when it comes to insuring or not insuring a performance boat with SF it's crazy!
