Maybe you should pay off the 4 years of back interest and balance of the loan:violent-smiley-045:

People like you are the reason that boat loans are harder to get for people who have good credit and pay off their obligations.

I'm willing to bet the "balanced owed" (penalties/interest/etc) is WAY above whatever the boat is worth.....(It's likely double what your balance was 4 years ago). You've had 4 years use of a boat that didn't cost you a dime and now they are playing hardball. I see no senario where you don't "get screwed". If they take the boat they will sell it for what they can (they are required to get reasonable market value for it) and chase you for the difference. If you could somehow sell it to pay off the note, do you think it would cover the balnace due? (and I'm not buying a boat without clear understanding of where the title sits). Even if you found a buyer, your coming up with cash to get the title to the new owner. And if you keep hiding the boat like you seem to have the last 4 years you'll eventually go to jail.

A boat cost us thousands each year and you've cheated the system.......now it's time to pay.

This has to be some kind of joke doesn't it?

Guys, I understand where your coming from. From my point, I used to own a med-large business and when the economy tanked and I was affected by it as so was millions of other people. Instead of me claiming bankruptcy (I was told from other business men that you never want a BK on your credit if you can avoid it) I negotiated everything out, wiping out interest penalties, avoiding lawsuits and paying off what the business own for pennies on the dollar. Over $500K is off my credit and only have a few items left and the boat being the biggest $49K owed.

I was really looking for some answers were people have negotiated or have dealt with situations like mine. But it seems that I should just keep on truckin and do what I have already done. I have made it this far…

Thanks

Here's an idea. Grow up, take responsibility for your actions, and man up!!! Thanks for being part of the problem and not the solution!!! Go ask Obama for another hand out!!! Makes me sick!!! 4 years?!? Guessing the next guy will get screwed too because if you couldn't afford the payment how did you maintain it? YOU DIDN"T!!!!

I want to say something really bad, but I will keep my mouth shut so I do not get banned. Give them the boat back and then you can go try to buy another boat, in which you will probably just do the same thing...
