Marine claims can affect your eligibility and your rate anywhere from 3 to 5 years from the date of loss. Most carriers "look" at the 5 year history BUT only remove the loss free credit if there is a loss within the last 3 years. One of my carriers only charges back 12 months.... Each carrier has their specific guidelines and stipulations.
