How does insurance work for canadian citizen with a second home in florida vs boat insurance?
Should i need to insure in canada and pay a premium for a couple weeks of boating in florida or should i use my US adress and need a second policy for US only?

Maybe i should ask bob the builder how he does it?

Did you ask your broker for their reccomendation??? That should be your first call (I would think )

Our Cdn Broker reccomended a Broker in the USA for us to met our protection needs...I personally have Insurance in Germany even though my extended coverage should protect me when I am visiting - I just didn't want to run the risk of being personaly held financially responsible if my home insurance Co. decided against paying out on a foreign claim if push came to shove

LOL. Here is Bob's answer. If your boat is registered in CAN as a couple of mine are, I have a CAN insurer and pay a bit of a premium for use in the USA and Bahamas / Caribbean. On my new Statement, it is a FL registered boat and insured by Total Dollar's Mr. Sy Goldberg and coverage is for eastern USA including FL and Bahamas. Hope that is some help Jeff.

I can and do insure many foreign boat owners with a US mailing address.I insured 4 boats last week in the Cape Coral and Miami areas,both CC and HP.
