Nada versus asking price
What does everyone think about nada values, ie, how accurate are they. An example would be some asking 30k for a stock boat that books out at 18.5 k

I have found it to be fairly accurate, a little high if anything. It's a decent guide but there are so many factors that can't be considered without seeing a specific boat. Are you including the the trailer and other options?
What is the boat? This forum is pretty good at judging what a boat might be worth. |
Nada means nada

Boat values are only as strong as the buyers looking for that particular boat on any given day.
If nobody wants what you have for sale, what can you do with it? Fire sale at auction? Flip side, if you have 3 or 4 people trying to buy the boat you can probably play them against each other knowing one of them will always be there as a fallback. Nada guides and similar book values worldwide are a tool used by dealers when the price suits them. RR |
A boat for sale is worth one thing and one thing only. And that is what someone is willing to pay for it. If it's not what the seller thinks it's worth then it don't sell. Even boats that are not for sale can be bought for the right price. This is what I think and is just my opinion.

For example, I sold a beautiful absolutely mint 1977 Donzi Sweet Sixteen about 10yrs ago, according to NADA, value with trailer was $1250.00....I sold it for $11,000.00

Jwws999 I don't think the 99 Baja is worth 40grand without trailer and wants to charge another 8200 for trailer . That's$ 48,000 ! Dude is off his rocker. It may have low hours but it's still a 1999 Baja which there are a million and one out there. I would say it's worth $ 30,000- 35,000 with trailer. Considering it has such low hrs

Yeah, I'm thinking about 28k with trailer. I see alot of that with these boats, the initial asking prices are out in orbit, and I have no way of actually figuring out what they go for The other question I have, and one of the finance guys can answer, is how much I can borrow on any particular boat (I've never financed a boat before, always paid cash). For example, how much would a bank loan me on that particular boat, (just an example, nada is 25k without the trailer) |
Honestly I can't answer that question at all. Have never had a payment on anything but my home and that's paid off as last year! Sorry jww999
