because I spent the last year looking for a more affordable insurance company and there were only 2 companies interested. Everyone else rejected the policy.

Have you tried Chris Wagner @ LOTO ? I sent him a text when I saw your post and he said no problem but will need a survey

They will get you a rate, there are companies out there. Others were about 15% under what Foremost charges. It may or may not make sense for you.

The location is the problem....SE FL = year round boating, hurricanes etc.

OP didn't say whether it was blue motors or not but that knocks a bunch of the Geico/Progressive type carriers out (No motors over 500 HP). Speed can be an issue also if the boat goes over 75 mph.

Can't compare policies apples for apples if the location is 1500 miles away. 10 years ago I knew a guy with a 100 MPH 43 Sunsation paying less than I did for a 32 Sunsation with black motors! He was midwest, I was SE Florida.

Just got quoted from boat us. $1800 for my 1999 baja and I tried going through Progressive... what a mistake that was

Over 26 foot and older than 20 years, coverage other than liability is crazy.

$730/yr for 500k/1M liability, agreed value of 40k for boat and trailer pushed it to $3600 a year. not worth coving the boat itself, it’s just a toy
