On Diminished value I understand you can, at least for car wrecks, but if your policy does not cover it and you use your policy to pay for it then you won't get it.

Even if the guy is well off or appears well off do not underestimate the ability of people to protect their assets from liabilities. I've watched many of millionaire's avoid liabilities for unsecured debts they didn't feel like paying.

When I got a quote for $1m liability, I was shocked at how cheap it was. I checked into an umbrella but it was more money than just bumping my coverage on everything.

That is crazy for me it was cheaper to go with lower limits on everything and get a umbrella. State limits may be different. Mine because of the way some individual policies are written make my "full" coverage anything from 1 Mil to 1.75 Mil.

Plus in Florida they can not take your house in a law suit claim for the most part anyway. Just ask OJ.

Just make certain that your umbrella covers you in a boat that goes the speed that yours does. Some umbrellas have exclusions for over 75mph.

I’m sorry to hear this happened! We boat at Eufaula and just got a 35 statement also. I added radar and fair because of the dummies at the lake without lights. We almost hit one and the only reason we saw him was he lit a cigarette. Crazy these people out on the lake with no lights.

Helmwurst 08-25-2021 06:10 AM

Here too. You should at least carry a strobing flashlight in case your light fail. Better than nothing at all.

Funny I was getting everything re quoted and double checked that.

It does and that is also when I found out the way the limits work that some would have more then the 1Mil. You are right, not all do my other agent couldn't get it done. It really does pay to have a good agent that can explain all this.
