The Shell Game

Just received my new Progressive policy. And reading it a line says,
Small Claims Forgiveness
We won't raise your rates if a claim costs us $500 or less after you pay your deductible.

I NEVER had a boat claim and Progressive seemed fit to increase my renewal policy by $150.
So to recap. Have a claim. Have Progressive pay out $499.99 and your rate doesn't increase. Have NO claim. EVER! Rate goes up $150.

All they saying is IF you have a CLAIM under $500 it wont go up...it doesn't say anything about overall rates not going up...my wife's SUV sits mostly in the garage as we commute to work together...so she got her coverage switch to low mileage (under 10K yearly) her premiums just went up another $30 for no reason other than they can! She called them on it and they gave her some BS that the claims are going up...cars are more expensive to fix...supply chain issues for parts...blah blah blah. They even said "you are free to shop around" .......WOW! there is no loyalty to customers for being with them for over 20yrs? Guess its time to just bounce around from year to year with who ever gives you the best price then huh?? :angry-smiley-038:

Dave,

I refuse to give Progressive any of my money, the same as I no longer wear Nike, Levis or shop at Target, among others.

Thanks. Brad.

LOL,

Our car rates went up WAY more than any of that. That is with my wife being retired and I work from home so pretty much no mileage. Every 6 months.
We use the boats more.

Truck is over a year old 3900 miles.

Want to talk about insurance nightmares, move to FL.

I just moved into a new house (homeowners insurance dropped $2500, house is brand new 2023 built hence the savings over a 20 yr old house yet new house is bigger/more expensive ?!?!?). Agent says he has ONE company that only writes new construction insurance. Auto insurance jumped $500, I moved 2 traffic lights away to a nicer neighborhood! That agent says different zip code.........WTF

I wouldn't put in a sub $500 claim on anything.

I keep my boat at my home in Pasco County, Florida (elevation 87 ft above sea level) I am not in a sinkhole prone area.
If I was to move roughly three miles closer to the Gulf of Mexico my insurance would be cheaper. WTF.. LOL
PostScript. I'm about 25 mi away from the Gulf
