We're going for another set of props.
The 38's reduced rpm as requested, but created too much bow lift. Interesting: top speed remained the same. We contacted Hering and they discovered that the 37's originally tested measured 16º, but were incorrectly warehoused in the 18º degree area. Since the bow lift was about right with 16º (not 18º as we thought) we need the 38's in 16º. Note: if you have a heavy bow, 18º Herings really lift! Hering is replacing the 18º 38's with a new set of 16º 38's. These guys are the best! |

Changed the vacuum/boost gauges to new boost only gauges. These have the SS rims; I'll probably send the other gauges to Livorsi for updates this winter.
Also: an inside transom photo of the new tailpipes. |

My third set of Herings shipped and hopefully we've completed testing and can enjoy the remainder of the summer.

3rd set? Sounds expensive

Not as bad as it sounds. Hering exchanged each set of props. I had to pay handling and shipping both ways, plus a refurbishing fee if needed.
Each time I had the exchange set within 3 weeks, which is impressive. How's your Jag's progress? |
The same. I am just using the boat right now and enjoying it. Gonna be in Havasu over the weekend. When it cools down a bit I will do more testing with different setups.
|
I've been enjoying the Jag; the boat is very consistent and reliable. But even with the 38" pitch Herings, we're hitting max RPM again.
Recently been testing the water intake system: the changes have been great, but increased the pressure too much. We'll adjust the height of the pickups until we get the correct pressure. |
I put adjustable pickups on mine. Took a guess at where i thought they needed to be and I was right on the money....
