God that thing is a turd. Especially with 4 engines. I hope mine runs better than that! LOL

Bob-
The 35' is a great boat

bobsbillets 03-15-2010 03:00 PM

It looks really nose heavy. Ill bet it has huge fuel cells infront of the driver like mine did. I think mine will carry the front end better since I wont have all that weight up front.

Dueclaws 03-16-2010 08:54 AM

Bob-
Mine came with two fuel cells set up alongside the cockpit, but had provisions for two more cells in front of the cockpit. With all four cells, capacity was close to 400 gallons.

Jack Clark told me the 40' had the extra cells because Gifford had planned to try to break the NY to Miami record. Gifford never tried to my knowledge.
At least 200# of weight was removed. Batteries are an example. The boat originally had two huge truck batteries (mounted high) and I now use Optimas (mounted low).

I've put this boat on a serious diet! Fuel tanks are moved back about 8 feet in the drivers compartment. Just that alone should make a huge difference. It had 100 gallon cells up front. Like I posed before, goal is 8500 pds running weight with fuel. I had the myco trailer refurbished so it looks new now. Found a few stress cracks and fixed all of them and then decided to re-gelcoat the entire bottom of the boat. Almost done with that. Transom is done, just needs new holes cut for drives. With all of the aluminum and other misc stuff, I bet I have taken out 500 pds of stuff if not more. It had 2 huge engine doors thats were very heavy. Since I am going to have a back seats now, I will run a single lid that hinges from the rear. I am getting really excited about this boat because everything I am doing to it is coming out awesome! I ll have to leave those ugly colors on the sides for this summer! Don't have time to do the sides if I wanna play soon. I was hoping to make it to desert storm, but I feel I won't have it done in time. It will be close, but I dout it. We will see!
