JDub, that boat is FAST. Went for a test ride and went 83? with two guys and half a tank. I almost bought that in may. Are you going to do the cabin and repaint/wetsand? I know the gels a little discolored. and the dash is a different gray color.

Mastercraft240 12-02-2009 11:27 PM

Almost forgot! Here's my beauty....

It does have a couple yellow spots...nothing some abbrasive buffing can't handle. No paint for this one. She's staying all white gel. Actually both the floor and dash is done in light grey gel. I like it because it helps keep the floor looking clean and in the sun it's easier on the eyes looking at the dash. The only color that needs to grow on me is the purple interior....got a flare I can borrow

Thanks Storm, I know your not a big fan of the lines on the Kryp's but at least she has the flat transom. It also has the deck and hull glassed together on the outside at the transom...that I know you'll approve of! The purple is growing on me ;)

Just busting your balls....I love the lines, but Rob (Stormrider) I don't think is a huge fan of them.

Thanks for the pics. I bought it minus power so that motor didn't come with it.

John , catch up with you in the spring. im sure we will get in quite a few runs . you will need some new helo pics for sure, hopefully again in 2010 hap puts together another run, that was a great day . cant wait until spring. I like the all white, and the purple will stand out.

Stormrider 12-04-2009 09:30 AM

john, i am definitely a bigger fan of the classic lines, like the saber, but the kryps are growing on me.

I've also seen holden running the East River... it looked good!

Thanks Scott....yeah I'll be using the power from the Saber.

jdub 12-04-2009 05:14 PM

Storm I like the classic lines too. But the lines on these Kryp's are very cool. Plus it's built strong and smart with alot of features that I liked. I'll start a project thread once I get some more detailed pics this weekend to show you what I mean.

After, before it would not be driveable with that much trim. After raising the prop shaft height I can over trim it because the prop is not getting the (bite) lift it did before. But it is slower with that trim setting lots of slip. But makes a good picture.

Mastercraft,

No, it was plumbers crack's boat, then Magic float took it on trade sold it and I ended up with it on a bank repo deal. The guy who had it lost out along with a lot of people on the condo flipping that was going on. So I drove to Alabama and got it. I cleaned it up but it was really solid when I got it. The engine made good power, but the rings are beat. It showed 57 hours on it and looked like it, but the engine was whooped. tons of blow by and leaking valves. I mean they had a spring on the oil dipstick to hold it in.... And the hour meter was unhooked. I put another 30 hours on it and think I put more oil than gas in it, lol. But it ran great, so I didn't want to rip it down in the summer. Having bigger plans for it anyway.
Being the second Kryptonite built I knew it could handle much better, so I re glassed the transom and raised the prop shaft 2", now it handles awesome. And is ready for some big power. The last one ran 104 mph and is still going strong. I want to see 110 or more out of this one.

Thanks, it was my last run for the season Oct 24th about 5:30pm I took my guys to round up some customers boats to winterize. I didn't have any pictures of my own. So I had them take some. It was freezing I had the Carhart on and was still cold. But not as bad as the customer who asked me to break in his boat in February so he would be ready for the season. That was a 23' Stingray which he put a V10 ilmore in it. He paid me to run the boat for 10 hours and break it in. I put on the snowmobile suit, and helmet. When we pulled to the doc at the Ramada everyone inside thought we were nuts.... If you get a chance, run the boat with a helmet, it is pretty cool. I do it on the early season cold runs..
