Been Hard At Work
 

I've never wet sanded before. Went to a detail shop, picked up some 1500, 2000, and 2500 grit sandpaper and went to work. I wrapped the sand paper in a sponge to ensure a flat surface and went to work. So far, two days of labor and I have the two bottom hull sides complete. Tomorrow I'll be taking out the interior and beginning on the deck. Ive been finishing up with McGuires heavy cut compound and a wool pad. I haven't applied the swirl remover or final wax yet.

I did this once on a black checkmate I owned, scary thought at first and a ton of work but it looks great when done. Good job, take some motrin.

Ok, I just got an email and at the present time he wishes to keep it private. Everything will be aired in due time. Some people know some of the story. Be patient and I am sure Jay will fill us all in eventually.

It will be an interesting thread anyway. Suprising to some, but the initial part was not suprising to me.

If I don't sell my boat I have a really nice 534 ran 90 in my boat.... I will also have a under 100 hour V10 ilmore that would be really sweet in a Kryptonite should run about the same 90 but be super reliable... I would give you a year warrantee if I did the install. Id even pick up the boat from you. And leave my boat as a loaner.. ok maybe not the last part.

You have pics phil :). I checked with my insurance company and found what I feel to be an extremely fair. I've been told once insurance companies hear "skater", they jack the rates. Also, spectre and motion are more in my price range. Everyones gotta try a cat one time. Its going to be a sad day when this kryptonite sells. I love this god damn boat.

I understand Jay. I would love to go with a 28 or 30 Skater with 300xs on it. I dont think that i could afford the insurance on one though. John (lightspeed) has a very nice 28 for sale right now, very reasonable price too. The other issue is that i dont think i could own a boat that didnt have some kind of cabin, unless it was a center console fishing boat.

Those Spectres are some nice boats too. You looking at outboards or io's? I saw that you were lookin at the 30+ foot range, so probably io's. Good luck.

Nice, I do like those 28's John. With the 300XS they run what, like 112mph dont they? Screamin fast, great gas mileage. Now if only i could afford two boats.:lolhit:
