X-Dimension/Pad

The 29ft kryptonite Superheat and my boat are stored next to each other. Was able to check out the bottoms and X-dimensions. What a difference! Curious to see what others bottoms and x-dimensions look like. My x is so high, kirk actually cut feeding holes to fit the exhaust. As you can see in the pictures, the transom assem almost touches the top of the swim platform. Probably a two to three inch difference between mine and superheat. Also, Superheat doesn't have a notched transom. When did Kirk stop putting the notched transom in and for what reason?

First two are Superheat (2008)
Mine is a 2001.

They both have a pad Jay. Yours has a notch transom while Superheat does not by looking at your pics. But what do I know....im a bumbling cheerleading idiot!!!:D:D:evilb: That is also one reason why your X would be higher becasue with the notch you can jack up the X.

You'll always be a bumbling cheerleading idiot. :party-smiley-004::lolhit: Just kiddin' brotha. I'm curious to see other members boats and the difference. Most owners add a spacers.

In what set-up though, notch or no notch? It also depends on if the set-up has a box or ITS since its setback. Did I mention I have a 1" spacer for sale?:D:D

I have no notch and am running an ITS box with a -1 Imco lower. The ITS box is mounted almost touching the swim platform. my exhaust tips are custom so they are down at the normal level though.

Don raised his X up to just over 1" under the pad with an ITS and -3 lower. He had a notch though.

I talked to Arnaldo, the guy who laid up the Kryptos, and he said that Kirk was constantly changing up designs. That is why some are two stringer boats and others are four, some have a notch, One has a full Vee (Jdub's), etc.

We have a notch, boltoed right on the transom, fairly low as well. Gets on plane with zero slip. If we were racing in F-1 wed raise it but its not worth it for class 5

Here are a couple pics I had on the computer. Mine does not have a pad, but does have a notched transom. You can see the V running the length of the bottom in the one pic. In the other pic you can just see the V below the transom assembly and notch. If I remember correctly my prop shaft is about 2 3/4" below the bottom. I have never ridden in another Krypto so I can't say but Phil says he could feel the difference when he went for a ride with me....I think it was more the driver then the boat.......:drink:

My 2003 X was high too and mine had the notch. I had notches to clear the exhaust.
