Race boat for sale
I spoke with Kevin 3 days ago. The race boat is for sale. Sorry to see it but its a sign of the times. Quent
|
The boat is actualy in the shop right now waiting for someone to fund it's repairs and for sale and owned by LAVEY.
|
That is a great looking boat. I was thinking that if you add AC it would make a nice boat just to have some fun in. It would be perfect for some of the local poker runs when the family does not want to go. Heck, I could even use it to go to work in. I have a lift at home and a marina across the street from work. It's only a 20 mile run, but it is all inland and it would certainly make it a pleasure to go to work each day!! I have done that with some of the center consoles in the past, but it is too much of a hassle to do it with the Top Gun every day. This boat is a 28? Is that correct?
|
That would definatly be cool to have it as a pleasure boat with AC in it.
And yes it is 28' 6" and runs low 90's with a 525 Lavey also makes a pleasure version with an open top and with an ilmor 710 it will run 105mph... |
I dont think it ever ran low 90s with a 525, AC will most certainly rob power.
im hearing rumors the boat may be coming back out to race this year. Im also hearing it might be up for sale. |
Hey Bruce
Was that a good boat in your class? What is something like that worth? |
It Did better in the rough than flat. Rolled a few times too. couldnt say what it would be worth. Its a good lookin boat. Vee lites are for sale right now any where from 50k to 70k. I hear the Wild Ride Boat (2005 Extreme) can be bought race ready, with all the trimmings for 75 k

believe what you want. big difference running kilo set up vs race or pleasure setup. Im sure Miklos, Mazakowski, and any other vee lite team would challenge that accomplishment ie: Chatanooga Tn 2007

"I dont think it ever ran low 90s with a 525, AC will most certainly rob power. " I show you the record speed, and trophy. Now you say " believe what I want?" That Lavey 2750 is a race boat, not a pleasure boat. I dont think thats debated. Im sure other guys have run faster, but none in 2006 and I nor you can take away what already been proven and recorded. Uncle Dave |

best of luck to you. We look forward to your return to racing.
|
At 91 mph that is still off the pace by 2-5 mph in flat water. If it can peak 91mph, than it can't hold that speed very long.
|
speed is 1 aspect of racing not necessarily all aspects of racing......
|
Wow. I didn't mean to start a fight. I just wanted more pics of the boat and wanted to find out where it was. I still think it would make a great little pleasure boat with a few minor mods. Any cockpit pictures?
|
did you guys ever build the twin race boat? Hot Duck that boat is cool. Was in Key West when it went over, it rolled all the way, they kept on runnen ol Princess dave and KC....

Wow, I thought that this thread had completely died. I'm glad that I came back to check it! Thank you all for the pictures and other comments. I just put a deposit on a 76 x 80 toy garage so this might be the wrong time for me to grab another boat, but I will certainly call them this week for the info. Thanks again to everybody for the help.
