Laveycraft 28 EVO-R
Here are some fresh pics of the new 28 EVO that just popped out of the mold. This 28 EVO is the beginning of a new model in the EVO line,
dubbed the EVO-R! Follow the build, or stop by Lavey to see what gives it the R name!! http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps3c14484c.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps5ea41b17.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps87a84fb5.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps27077db5.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps3842ea60.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...pse8b73adb.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...psd3e572f7.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps982c613e.jpg |

You'll have to wait and see the further in production it gets!
It's a 43' Sunsation that was in a big accident. Lavey did all the fiberglass repair and repainted the entire boat. Stopped by this morning working on a diff toy.... checked it out- now I get the "R". Pretty cool idea. Fritz, ... always clever. Uncle Dave |

More pics ??
Especially from the secret "R" |
Sorry everyone there isn't to many updates on this thread. Nobody at Laveycraft goes on the forums. I don't actually work for Lavey anymore because I'm in the Navy and live in Japan so I only receive updates by phone calls and text messages from my dad. I've been out on deployment for the past few months so was unable to update things.
Here are some pics I was sent this morning. Progress has been slow due to other boats and changes on design ergonomics of the 28 EVO-R. Can anyone guess what the "R" stands for? http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h8...sd204209c.jpeg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h8...s8f5adf4b.jpeg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h8...sb2446d26.jpeg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h8...sedaf01d4.jpeg Inside the cockpit looking aft. http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h8...sdaeb1d0d.jpeg |
Wow looks very good.

No the boat you have is the 28 SVL. What makes this boat an EVO-R is that it has a removable canopy top. R being for removable/race. This model starts it's life as a standard EVO then Lavey goes back to the full SVL mold and makes the canopy top. |
You gotta be old to make the comparison, but '61 Chevy Bubble Top. Way Cool.

The Boat is done!

Mighty Sweet.
I can stand up inside the boat with the capsule lid up. Uncle Dave http://i.imgur.com/usnG5EZ.jpg |
Chris, and Eric making sure everything is flowing, checking for any leaks, and coming up to temp before heading out.

If the top is meant to be removable, how much does it weigh? Awesome feature for us northern boaters when fall hits!

From the shop floor It appeared to be a 2 person job similar to removing/replacing a fixed hard top on a convertible. The hardware is all locking quick release. It was quiet and calm inside and even with an Ilmor 710 a few feet from us we could have a reasonable conversation at 65 mph. The lucky Germans that are buying up these rigs run in the baltic sea and have a very short warm season and "option in" things like the power canopy and heated seats. Uncle Dave |
