It's really coming along, and its going to be killer. Stopped by the shop on my way out to Vegas today and saw work being done. I understand its going to be a "next gen" 24 with a fiberglass floor mod. What are you putting in it for power? UD |
Thanks Dave! Picked up a lot of cues from your boat, not a blue guy but seeing the electric blue on yours made the color decision easy! Yes, boating up here in Buffalo I really needed a molded liner and Chris jumped in and said lets do it, same tub as yours. Going with the 8.2 HO. Had my heart set on a west coast boat, have been looking for a while and always circled back to LaveyCraft. Will really stand out here with all the Formula's, Baja's and Fountain's!

Makes sense that it's the 2750 tub - the 2750 upper mold is out and being used to provide the template for your rig. I think its great that somebody drove the improvement to the 24 model. In a sea/lake of "sticker" boats a LaveyCraft is certainly going to stand out. You'll hold twice the fuel 27 fountain does and probably be nearly as long when you take the beak out. I never understood a 50 gallon tank in a 27 foot boat, you'd be filing up everywhere with a pump. Congrats again! UD |
Anyway you can move up to the 520 non cat engine ? The 8.2 black engine is based really well but darn they sure can have their problems with all the emission stuff on them now. Giving out a bit of info that might pay off in the long run and not trying to scare you. Also keep in mind you will have to find a shop that is extremely well trained on the current emission engines. Not that many around that are top rated for the job especially for the 8.2. Just saying.

Here a pict of a trip from a few years ago at Lake Mead.
This is Adam 2-4's 24 - next to Kevin Briggs 2750 then my 2750- then a ski supreme 22. I hope to be able to see this new 24 on the water - and boat with you Ken. UD |
That boat is absolutely breath taking for sure - makes me want to step up! :)
OR send the XCS out to Cali to have re-gelled! lol |
Here are a few update pictures. We've been super busy with this boat and all the other boats in the shop. Enjoy!

Bup- Chris said the rub rail ends are hand formed - so you probably wouldn't recognize them as they don't actually exist.
Boats nearly done Ken, looking sharp- like the lighting you used. Curious why you didn't LED the transom? Smart move adding some steering. UD |
Are you going to have that bad boy at the Buffalo Poker Run?
Padraig |
Boats finished.
Being water tested today. UD |
Yep, Chris is spalshing it today, looks crazy!!!! I should have it by Tuesday Wednesday next week and planning a very long bonding session. Will be at the Buffalo run but not participating, sitting at Rats or Sunset so come by and say hi, beers on me!!!
Thanks so much to Chris and Lorraine, they went above and beyond!!! |

Way late with these.
Pizt I missed getting a ride, I wanted to feel the 8.2 which Chris says he is impressed with, if overly complicated.. Turned out sweet, congrats Ken! The lighting package is even "more better" than I anticipated. Love it man UD |
Thanks Dave!
Having to beat people away, they act like its from another planet! |

Having to beat people away, they act like its from another planet! Truly hope you are enjoying the hell out of your new toy. She's a real sweet ride and I can imagine how hard you've worked to get her. Everywhere I take my rigs people still stare..Ive known the feeling for about 20 years... the guys at the launch ramp asking - where did that come from? The people at the dock checking it out. When I was watching your ride go together I kept thinking - this might be the optimal sized machine for me. My 21's just a bit too small for big lakes but perfect on rivers and calmer lakes, and the 2750 is a bit too big on smaller lakes and rivers Turning it around in the canal in parker was "fun." ....and when connected to my motorhome - is 54 feet long- 4 feet longer than allowed in Cali.(think most semi's are 50) A real wagon train to manage. I think your rig strikes a very usable balance between big and smaller water outings. Hoping you have the summer of your life sir! UD |
Agreed that is one of the best looking Laveys I've seen - great colors!
Chris Jr and I were just talking about the 24 being the optimal size. I'm with you Dave, even though I love my 21 it is starting to feel just a tad small inside with our 2nd child.... yet it is a great size for the inland lakes around here. However, a little bit bigger hull would be great for the Lk Michigan excursions! |
