A little late to the party, but I wouldn't rebuild a 575 without doing a superchiller. Hands down. Easy 150hp with the pulley change, and peace of mind with lower IATs. Theres a 29 running around with a old Teague 1000 1471 carb motor, and it doesn't stick out of the hatch, so you should be fine with the 575. Good luck with the project.
