Hello Jeff,

Roger at one time or another worked on pretty much most of the Magnums on the Jersey Shore. There were a few that he didn't get to work on, but not many. Roger's(Jolly Roger) was always just a little faster(some times alot) then all the others Magnums.
He worked on my Sport several times. I got the Volvo trim set up off of the Jolly Roger when he switch to the MDS Speedos.

Thank you
Jim

I don't think that the Smokey & The Bandit was a real Magnum Sport.

Jolly Roger

I asked Roger what ever happened to the Jolly Roger...he indicated that Magnum acquired the hull through a 3rd party and splased a mold that they used for some time. Bud

I think Lucky Strike is right. I think Smokey and the Bandit is a 27 Lancer, a Magnum knock off. Smokey was running "Stern Powr Drives" formerly mfg in NJ, now being Mfg in Indiana?

Stern Powr Drives

Guess who helped designed those drives...Roger.Also think he did use the lower end from Stern Powr on the Jolly Roger Volvos. Go back and look at some of the 1st postings from Jeff when he returned from Fla. last month. Bud

If it was a Lancer, it's a good one. Because it had Magnum running lights and side vents, Jim never sold Lancers that way. Also it looks to have dual rear fuel tanks, Lancers had one belly tank, no center sringer. And most had pine wood for stringers, not the best for a race boat. I watched the mold being made at Lancer off of the Double Vison Magnum, that [no cig] has now. Who ever built this one, did it right.
