Insurance who has what

Guys,

I've basically been told that no one wants to insure a 1968 Magnum . . Hagerty is working on it . .but the possiblities are slim . . they don't like anything over 45 mph .. .

I've worked with the companies in the "Insurance Forum" . . they can't touch it . . most don't want an old boat that is older than 30 years . . regardless of condition and survey.

So I am posting here to find an answer as the boat in question is a 1968 Magnum 27.

Farm Bureau insures all of my stuff at an agreed value.
Never any hassle or questions.

Hagerty has made an offer to insure both my boats .. the 1969 Donzi Corsican and the Magnum.
Both are stated value policies . . .and I won't ever let them lapse!

Great news,:cool-smiley-026: Did they have any problem with the speed of a boat ??? I have had Hagerty on my Corvettes, and I have been happy with them.

H2O boater,

I told Hagerty of the speed potential of the Donzi, and indicated that the Magnum would stay as built with twin SBC . . They had no difficulties with either boat inspite of their stated 45 MPH woody boat policy . .

They did request photos, and want updates on the Magnum as it progresses.

I believe it helped that I shared with them my background and age . . and clean driving record.

If you have insured with them in the past with a Corvette, likely you'll have no problems. They did distinctly ask me if I insured cars with them.

It's good to hear that Hagerty doesn't turn away classic glass boats. :drink:
