Purple Mag "CLIMAX"

Can anyone tell me where this mag is or what it was named before or after Climax? All i know is Bob Zeiger raced it in GLOPRA and was docked in the clifton lagoons in Lakewood, Ohio. late 70's early eighties.

Jason....I've ALWAYS loved Mags ever since i sat in Climax when i was 12. I always wondered if that plum crazy boat was Climax. I love ALL the resto jobs these guys do with their Mags on here. That is one boat under 30ft that will eat up lake erie waves! To answer your question Jason, are you telling me to look no further hint hint LA Express? If memory serves me i think Climax had purple striped bolsters in it.

If the boat you are enquiring about was called Plum Crazy, I believe a gentleman over on Donzi.net did a very long hard search for a man who owned it at one point, found it at a marina yard, in VERY sad shape, and is in the process of restoring it......

first thread is the search for it and the second is the restore....

Hello Everyone.

Yes, Plum Crazy was found in a marina in NJ, it was chopped up pretty bad as they were going to try and made into a center console, Parnell(Sweet Cheetz) on the Donzi Resistry has the boat now in Mi. and will restore it in to a center console.

Plum crazy was my old Magnum Sport and before it was Plum Crazy it was Sea -Wraith and raced out of Fla. My understanding was the boat was never a Great Lakes boat.
Its is 1973 sport and I purchased it in 1976 as the Sea - Wraith in Maitland Fla, and brought it to NJ, where it stayed until Parnell picked it up a few weeks ago.

I hope this helps, and yes a purple Magnum with the purple and white candy stripes looks great.

Thank you
jim
