Bud she had small blocks. When we raced APBA P class around 1980 this Mag was faster than my Mag as the Trs drives were raised into the rub rail. This was one of the fastest hulls in P class then till the Shadow cats came along & blew us all away.

Andy nice pic's !! Remember when Mike H went the wrong way on the race course with the Mag @ the Cleveland race.

Ya, he took on a 38 pantera and made it out alive. I think you and Rich had to keep him from killing the owner of the other boat. Those were the days. This would be another nice project for you.

Racing APBA P class back around 1981 IO Magnums were running about 72 mph, Mad Mother ran around 75 mph with it's high X dimension. The Trs drives were raised well into the rub rail.

I loved the sound with the old crusader exhaust and the megaphones. Wish I had the space to pick her up.

Bone stock not really, 1981 APBA P class rules. Cast Iron four barrel intake, cast iron exhaust, any flat tappet cam, 9.5 compression, 355cu, & cast iron heads. True stock 280 trs Mag ran 61mph to 65mph like this speed chart shows from this 1976 APBA event.

lucky strike 08-03-2012 10:47 AM

Got ya....The Great Adventure 28 Cig ran 64 with bone stock 280's that day.
