Magnum Projects for 2013
 

Haven't head from current Magnum owners on status of their current projects.Bob and I have completed the Stasrfire going to Italy next week. Actually Bob did all the work and I handled all the paperwork and communications with the two great people we have been working with since Sept.

Bob has corrected so many faults with it's original construction that I will keep that to a latter e-mail.Basically,the floor was replaced,deck removed and bounded correctly,correct some of the original design flaws,re-engineered the bulkhead between the cabin and cockpit and a general go over on everything from the Bow to the Stern.

Looks like that Starfire is taking a similar path as mine! I haven't had a chance to get on the forums and post new pics but we are making great progress on my Sport. I have been meaning to get in touch with you on a few parts I am in need of.

I thought you said you guys laid additional stringers in the eng compartment???

I have a bunch of small jobs going on my Starfire this winter... Installing CMI switchable mufflers, replacing my exaust tips, swapping out my trim tab pumps and little engine odds n ends. I've removed all my exaust and tips and sent 1 blower out to be refreshed so far.

Unfortunately, I need to have some fiberglass work done again. Pulled off a big chip on the transom with one of my tips (ugh), 2 small cracks on my strakes that will be ground out, glassed and gelcoated. Discovered the mounting area for tab pump was rotted, not sure how involved that will be yet.

Repair of Starfire
 

The reason we pulled the deck was three fold.
1. Easier access to the two gas tanks.
2.Easier to clean up the front compartments.
3.Needed to bond the deck properly to the hull and redesign the bulkhead between cabin and cockpit.There is a lot of work in getting the hull and deck cleaned up before you put them back together again.

Also some additional work that needed to be done was just easier with the deck removed.

The additional stringers were installed under the cockpit along with bettering bracing which allowed us to lower the floor.This will be the best Starfire ever built with the improvements and re-engineering Bob has done. Bud

More pics plzz.... Great job guys on another Mag saved!! That is a lot of hard work!!:evilb::evilb::evilb: Was that how all the starfires were built?
