72 sport winter project

The Magnum I picked up needs a little TLC on the bulk heads and floor. Pulled engines and going to get into the structure of the boat to make sure it's solid. Have some parts from my Cigarette Mistress that I am not going to use and thought about putting them on the sport. I have a complete set of Bravo's with 2" imco shorties that have been modified to handle some extra horsepower and imco boxes. Mag came with volvo 280's with nose cones. Anyone every mess with boxes and bravo's + 2" shorties???

The Magnum 27 has by now been rigged with just about every drive . .
A tid bit of info, a Volvo powered boat likely has 29-30 center to center spacing... this can make headers a difficult fit. Consider this as you set up your transom.
What are you thinking of for power?
Lots of discussion on the Magnum 27 and restorations on Donzi.net on the "talk about other boats" forum.
Post some pics when you can!

Have these bravo/imco drives with perfect gimbles sitting in the garage. They were on imco boxes with wing plates and steering arms. Just kicking around the idea of putting them on the magnum with so big tabs?
After tearing the 350'S down I have two different sets of heads but lower ends are .60 over but in good shape. Plan on doing some 383's to put back in. Boats a nice ride and head turner the way I bought it. I will post some pictures of her when it's not raining and now snowing.

Greg I would defiantly foam them back in place. You also may want to coat the outside of your tanks with aluminum primer sealer before you reinstall them . Mark

It's definately best to prime the tanks with aluminum primer and then finish with cold tar epoxy.
I know it's an extra process, but it does protect the tanks indefinately as opposed to a bare tank.
I prepped the tanks first by lightly sanding to scoff them up abit to give the aluminum primer
something to bit to.....then washed clean. next day rolled on the cold tar epoxy.
A side note: Cold tar epoxy is a "real" thick tar........I found to make it a paintable substance you
have to warm it up abit..................I placed the gallon container of tar epoxy in a bucket of almost
boiling water and stirred it.........otherwise it's impossible!!
