Your thoughts on seating!
 

I lowered the cockpit sole by 4" in my 27' sport and need some front seating now..............I was thinking bolsters would look good since they'll sit lower now
and maybe look better since the floor has dropped.......I was also thinking about the original front seats for my '76 sport?.......were they pedistal high back buckets??.......................I'm sure they must be very hard to come by today .....thoughts???

Ironheads Anaconda floor is lowered & has the original seats & looks great, Jeff's floor is @ the original height with the same factory seats. I believe Bud had a set of original seats for sale ? Pete if you have any back problems like have than I would go with a bolster, for me that's the only way I could own & run a Magnum..:party-smiley-004:

Thanks Mark you always come up witth good info and the best pics...about Bolsters now, what makes the case in your opinion (and I do have 62 yr.old back)
is it because you have to bend your knee's thus less jarring on your back???......................I think I can see where sitting down in "original seats"would cause more impact on the back making bolsters a better choice.

Mark, What about the shock absorbing pedestals (like the one Jeff has fitted in the Maltese) too expensive? -or just very hard to locate?.........I guess I need to way everything come up with a plan.

Scippy, I bought marks mirage that had bucket seats with the shock absorbing pedestals . I redid the whole interior and put bolsters in it . I think I still have the pedestals with the bucket seats if you need them . The good thing is I live in brick .

Pete the shock absorbing pedestals do help but are no way even close to the support you get with a bolster. A year before I started my restoration I road in this yellow Mag of Kemosabe Johns, I found the only way to ride in that Mag for me was sitting in the back seat . I knew after that ride bolsters are what I needed. I also padded my floors foot well with shock absorbing padding, much better on the knee's too. If this craiglist ad is right these bolsters for $1300.00 is hard to beat.

Mark, I called and it seems legit..............small manufactuer out of Pittsburg, PA..........I can pick my base size Custom fit and choice of any colors!

The first Magnum Sport that I ever rode in had stock shock pedestals and buckets and I remember it was not a comfortable ride even in the Bay,, when I got my Sport,
It had a two man Bolster and also a brand new set of buckets and pedestals that were never used.. Roger Munn told me that he wouldn't use the buckets, that he turned them around and stood and leaned on the back of the buckets when he drove his Sport.. he then got single bolsters and cut floor boxes on the Jolly Roger Sport.
In the end I got Bilt-right who made the original interiors to make me a new 3 man bolster with drop seats on the two outside locations and used that with my dropped floor.

Jim,......After Mark's input and your thoughts on the subject i've decided to go with the Bolsters..........The bolsters Mark pictured above seems to be of stout construction.
I spoke with the guy who fabricates them .........he can run them over to me personally since he visits Jersey every month...............I really like the way Purple looks on the
sport. .........maybe a set of matching bolster!
