Core material in Maltese

anyone ever recore a Maltese?

if so, I'm curious to know what the core material is when Magnum Marine first built the Maltese

Thanks in advance for any info

If you are talking about the transom core, Magnum used mahogany plywood. The decks were cored with balsa.

That is correct. The hulls are single skinned, no core. The stringers are the only other component in the hull construction and they consist of marine grade plywood.

It varies depending on the area of the hull. High stress areas have more layers of fiberglass roving. The thinnest areas are probably at the upper part of the hull near deck-hull joint. That area on my old Magnum Sedan was about 3/8 to 1/2 inch thick.
