The Magnum is totally stock except the interior. It's lived at Lake Mead in the desert sun since 1980. After the stripes split and cracked we've used all white including carpet for subsequent upholstery.
It does have a bow rail. The engines have Edelbrock manifolds and Holley 650's. |
That's a great model and rare opportunity for somebody. Also Mr. Stromberg, try to advertise the Magnum on the forum RiverDavesplace DOT com under the classified section Boats and Watercraft towards the bottom of the Forum sections. The local gentlemen in Your neck of The South-West are buying and selling a lot of their high-quality brand boats there. Best of luck. Lars, another Swedish-American. ;)
P.S. I put up a photo of yours and the brochure, but I suggest you post more photos as soon as you got your 10 required posts taken care of, since I got a feeling that Your boat is a beautiful time capsule. Hi Lars
Do you think that (smaller pic) could be the same as the brochure boat ? I know it sure isn't mine ! I notice the identical bootstripe but the horn is missing . Do you know where and when that was taken and if it is GreenGo25's boat ? |
Hi,
I took the horn off in the 80's. It was hard to polish around and didn't look sleek like the boat. |
Yep , that sure looks like the brochure boat to me ! (Minus one horn on the deck)
I too know all about that sun issue . It can wreck anything . I often say that of all the things we had made for ours to bring it back to life again the stamoid cover that runs from the transom deck to over the windscreen is probably my favorite item . I just wish that they'd put a little more thought into the windscreen design so that the originals didn't come to a peak in the center. That unfortunately exaggerates the appearance of an already high windscreen. I had to have ours re-fabbed from scratch as there was none and I lowered the height at the front by about 2 inches and kept it level all the way across with no peak in the middle. A 1000% percent improvement ! |
I'll bet that it looks good with the lower windshield. That mod had to be expensive. Here we get short, tall, square waves and the height works pretty well. I'm still looking for the Donzi pic.

Here are pic's of a Donzi 7 Meter & a Donzi 24' Spitfire https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...00138b55db.jpg

Thanks for the pics H2o too . I have a feeling that GG is going to say that it's the 7 Meter. That Spitfire is stunning .. |
I do believe that it was the same as Donzi Daze. Is that the 24'? It was sure an excellent ride in rough water. The previous owner said the the engines were blue-printed and balanced.
WOW, your Magnum Sport is absolutely beautiful. The gel and finish are superb. Stunning. |

These designs came out a good few years after the Magnum 25 which he is also responsible for as it's a scaled down Mag 27 with more freeboard but you can see his style in them all if you look carefully. IMO , as time went on he morphed to a softer , smoother look with less hard lines and creases. |
