Volvo Drives

If you are still looking for drives look up Freshwater Volvo Parts on Facebook. He has many drives and parts. I’d recommend upgrading to at least 290 or SP—A drives. They do require a larger transom cutout but have a nice intergrated trim setup. I found my SP drives and transom assemblies for less than 1500 a piece scouring Craigslist. For the transom assemblies and uppers gear housings, early 90s bayliners came with them And you can often find complete boats for 1000$ or less. The only difference 4 cyl to V-8 is the ratio in the lower leg. |

Follow up on Murf's email. However, you would have to be very knowledgeable about Volvo drives to put it together. Still, suggest calling Tom. There also is a person 60 miles east of Syracuse, if you want that info call me. Bud

Volvo Aquamatic drives are simple and easy to repair. A simple service manual will walk you through everything. My biggest tip is when it comes to bearings and seals just take the old ones to motion industries and have them match them up. You will find they used off the shelf parts and you can get them for 1/10 of Volvo’s price. |
Same goes for U Joints they are standard automotive ones. |
