27 Magnum - Runaway
i have resently bought this boat ,and im trying to get as much info about it as posible ,i know that it has run severel offshore races in usa and it ended up in poland on the factory that prodused Rupert boats. they used it to copy the hull , and then 17 yers ago it was brouht to sweden buy the guy i bought it from. i tryed to search for info but i find it hard to get, do anny of you have anny info .

That's exactly it, so cool that you found it, I've found some info about who rebuilt it and as I understand it, it's a Magnum sport from 71 that was then cut down and replaced the top with an activator top, the hull was blown clean and carbon fiber reinforced, and a casting was made from an Apache Predator dashboard. Any info I can get about this boat would be gold. I'm going to keep it, revive her properly and use her for classic offshore in Sweden and Denmark, and then I thought I'd make a sign with info about her, competitions she's done in the states, etc.

She is in very good condition as it is, the engines which are 496 HO run as they should, but I will tear them down and check that everything is as it should. Then I will put a compressor kit on them to get a little extra boost. The drives are XR drives and look basically new, but I will also take these down and measure them. The propellers are Bravo 1 four-bladed which are modified for better grip according to the previous owner. The hull and cockpit look exactly like the picture you posted and the previous owner has really done a good job of preserving her, no cracks or other defects have i been able to find. So 1 month in the workshop and I will start to have her in race-ready condition. i will take some pictures this weekend and uppload here, she is a real diamond .

Hopefully Mark AKA H2O chimes in, he's a Magnum Guru here in the States. I have a Starfire I am hopefully picking up this weekend. Old racer too needs a good restore.

yes i found that the original hull was 27,4 fot so i gues it could pas as 27 or 28 .:) , but maybe the guy i bought it from have it wrong, he told med that it was a 1969 magnum , and as i understand it ,Don Arrow built 2 models of magnum Maltese , one 27 and one 32 those yers 68-69 before he sold the company . i think the owner in usa was Frank Fasulo and also the one who rebuilt her, but i havent gott that confirmed yet |
