Cool, why doesnt he get a engine coverer for the back?! With a hydrolic lift?
|
The back was cut off and extended 3 feet. An entirely new hatch must be constructed , it's not something yoou can buy. This also includes raising the side in some manor to look halfway decent:rolleyes:
It runs....so he uses it as it is. Incredably noisey is an understatement:eek: |
Your buddy must have a LOT of time and extra parts or money to throw.
But hey it's unqiue and kinda cool |
That boat is unreal!! Talk about unique!! I had a 1970 sedan with a 598 680 hp chevy. It went 70 mph,had a sternpower ssp drive.I never got to prop it out properly, probally might have gotten another 5 mph out of it.Then I got a 30 velocity. How did your friend extend his boat? Did he incorparte a step when he did it?How fast does it go? Are you guys gonna go to the NYC poker run? I always been a Magnum fan and they are a true classic but his should be in Powerboat or some other magazine. Hope to run into you guys this summer Thanks Tripps

Tripps,
Yes there is a 2" step in the rear. This has been the source of handling problems over about 50 to 60 mph. The reason being ( we believe) at that speed the last three feet break loose from the water and act more like a 3' setback box , while the boat thinks it's still 27 feet. This is giving a lot more leverage on the steering and a slight movement of the wheel is hairy:eek: With the extra weight of trips and drag of 3 drives in the water , I doubt if it's any faster than yours. But the three engines are:cool: cool Building the extention involved building a mold around the stern and glassing it from the inside. This overlapped the existing hull thru the entire original engine bay. Next came 4 stringers to replace the original 3. |
