Free reving any engine to 8000rpms is not good for it. Big difference between driving hard and free reving. As you can see, its smoking out the tail pipes.

little carbon blow off never hurt nothin.... IF that motor was at temp, it aint gonna hurt it. That wasnt 8000 revs.
