That is not where I thought it was going

First thing i notice is theres no track marks in the sand behind the machines , i would also think that in the water like that the sand would erode inder the tracks real real fast and once the machine is at the axle you have a serious problem , and lastly it looked like a very easy place to do a recovery from the water unless the hull bottem was badly comprimised

At first I thought it was photo shopped. But I doubt it, the way it was pulled into pieces would have taken some serious talent to "virtually" create.

My guess is there are no tracks because the water washed around the machines before the pic was taken... the tracks on the excavators are specifically designed to apply low ground pressure over a large area. Its also a 25ton machine, so its not that heavy..the dump truck on the beach would weigh more if it was full.

It would take a lot to stick an excavator, especially bahama sand which is pretty packed to begin with.

i'm still leaning towards photoshop , i agree that track excavators have low ground pressure per square foot (i had one of mine slide sideways into parked cars in an ice storm on a very slight grade) , but i still dont believe that boat would be salvaged in that way , even if you drag that thing sideways back into the water ripping out shafts and struts , you still have more salvage value , again unless there was already a gapping hole in the bottem , also in the pictures none of the glass is removed and this is obviously a beach were people are swimming , if you have ever worked with those types of heavy equipment , you know that the pair of machines are more then capable of lifting that whole boat complete out of the sand and onto a flat bed where it could be dismantled at a safe distance from where barefoot people are gonna be swimming

If you own a cat excavator you know the lifting capacity is limited, especially above grade. A pair of 325B excavators would not lift that yacht off a truck on dry land. Have you ever tried to lift a trench sheild with a 325? The capacity on a 20' radius is about 20,000 lbs or 10 tons at ground level. As the stick raises it lowers the capacity fast. I think the government said get that boat off my beach....now! Pics are real

It is full of another 50 tons of wet sand.Only way to get that out is a trash pump and a fire hose to keep the sand loose and suspended in the water inside of the boat so that it can be pumped out with the water.

My bet is the bottom was toallly gone.

I vote real. In a couple of the pictures you can also see the holes in the water where th tracks were.
