Ilmor 710 "singing"
1 Attachment(s)
Heres a short clip of my first ride in my new LaveyCraft 2750 .
Were at Elsinore doing a test hop before we head out to bigger water. We were spinning a labbed 28 about 6K in this clip. You can hear that Ilmor 710 pretty well from 24 seconds on Uncle Dave Laveycraft 2750 - 710 Ilmor Laveycraft 20.8 Sebring 406/ITS |
A 28 at 6K!! Impressive. What mph is that?
|
Thanks

I didnt play around with the built in gps enough to get the speed screen up, or even set it up at all. Uncle Dave Laveycraft 2750 - 710 Ilmor Laveycraft 20.8 Sebring 406/ITS |

Sounds sweet! |
I wasn't able to open the vid.... but had a question.
What drive are you running and do you know what your X dimension is? Spacers? Shortie? Thanx |

Teague uses an imco lower which is a bit better hydrodynamically than a sportmaster lower. (I lost 4MPH on my tunnel when I went to a sportmaster) It has an ITS instead of external hydraulic steering which "acts" as about a 2 inch spacer. Dont know the X dim, but its up there enough to completely blow the prop out You can look at comprehensive picts of the entire build in the Laveycraft forum under "out of the mold Im blown away" and under the Ilmor 710 thread. looks like

Thanx Looks like OSO turns everything into a .mov no matter what you upload, I can email the file directly to a different address if you like. Its a short clip. What I didnt finish typing was that the x dim seems high, and if you just "fathand" the stick out of the hole it'll blow out even a 5 blade 28. Its certainly nothing unmanageable, but I wouldn't loan it to a "bayliner" guy without letting him get some seat time. The nordic guys like their heats congratulations Id like a ride in your rig some day. DO you have picts? Uncle Dave Laveycraft 2750 - 710 Ilmor Laveycraft 20.8 Sebring 406/ITS |
.........sounds like a fun boat!
|
Nice, The vid worked for me this time. Hope you enjoy it!!!!

Uncle Dave Laveycraft 2750 - 710 Ilmor Laveycraft 20.8 Sebring 406/ITS The problem (if you call it that) is that I'm the only Nordic Heat ever with a 710. I don't really have anyone to work with in terms of getting the boat dialed so when someone else has a similar size boat with my motor and similar drive I'm always curious. If you have a chance to measure, can you level your cavitation plate with the bottom/keel of the boat and then see how far down the center of your prop shaft is from the bottom of the boat. Should be somewhere around 4.5 inches but I'd be curious to see where you are. My boat is in Havasu and will be until mid june. If you make it out this spring we'll have to hook-up for sure.. I wouldn't mind taking a ride in your boat too. Talk to you later. |
I wouldnt mind taking taking a ride in BOTH your guys boats.

I rode in the boat on the maiden voyage and that ilmor sounded GREAT

Very nice! Sounds like the Hanson Brothers singing....
When you buy a real motor it will be like Joe Cocker on speed singing.... These Laveycraft's looks very nice, do you have any photos? Mange |

the person with the most v-10 experience is Alexi at boostpower. He raced those viper cars for some time and likley has tried all combos. Give him a call--I was there not long ago as he was dyno testing a Supercharged one. Anyway-just a thought
