Hurts to watch

Somewhere in the middle east, nice collection of boats. Just hurts to watch, starting with the drives up and such...

TexomaPowerboater 04-30-2009 05:02 PM

whats wrong with that?

johnny g 04-30-2009 05:50 PM

They could possibly F up the u-joints with the drives trimmed all the way and running.

spazboz 04-30-2009 05:52 PM

I don't fully understand the point of putting the boat in gear while its on the trailer. Maybe I'm missing something?

BrettM 04-30-2009 05:52 PM

It is BAD on u-joints and such to start any I/O with them in the trailered position.....

BrettM 04-30-2009 05:54 PM

Putting it in gear also made me kringe!! One of our techs was told at one of their service schools that was not a good idea to shift #6's or NXTs in gear, out of water, with a prop on. Might be to lack of back pressure on the gears and shafts....not sure

HHMMMM That's nice. I am glad that we have all helped them buy those nice american made boats with the gas money they got from us.

I was thinking the samee thing:mad:

sean stinson 05-02-2009 04:16 PM

here's the deal if it is a transmission boat it doesn't matter where the drive is until you put it in gear!!!! When it's a bravo drive and the components are turning then it is very hard on the u-joints..... putting them in and out of gear same scenario if it is trimmed up again the spinning mass is hard on the u-joints.......

I am pleased that they are buying American, these exports help keep the boating industry alive particularily during bad times.

Hope they buy many more:drink:

PURPLE HORNET 05-06-2009 12:30 PM

I wonder how many camels it takes to pull that boat to the lake.

spazboz 05-06-2009 02:03 PM

Now that's funny right there!

LMAO

If the u-joints fly apart, just park it out back and call the states. Have them send another one ASAP with even bigger power.

noyzee 05-11-2009 11:01 PM

watching these vids before reading, nothing hurt the boats. in gear out of gear rev them to 9k rpm etc, nothing hurt more then seeing the fact they have those boats.

god bless the USA, but we need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we used to be the strong arm, the boss, the man, the best, now we owe money to japan and china, that hurts more then seeing those boats in gear.
call me stereo typing, call me rasist, call me what evry, but that hurts, and thats truth. sad but true. maybe after these 4 years are up we will be back in the game

Sitting on our asses and whining about what someone else has isn't the answer IMHO

noyzee 05-12-2009 09:30 AM

i only sit on my ass about 2 hours a day at best. unless im taking off a blue print for work.

BrettM 05-12-2009 11:22 AM

Running a 700-1075 blower motor on a garden hose in or out of gear at 9k RPM is flat out abuse!

I agree but the engines in the videos were idling. The second one sounds like an EFI when he put it in gear.. no 9k rpms, maybe 900..

NoWake200 06-16-2009 05:53 PM

I wanted to see the dog in the second video... it sounded like a German Shepherd or Belgian Malinois. I am sure it was a trained killer with all that $$$ sitting in there.

:)
