Awesome!!! i am also interested in what ya got... I love when you hit that one wave!

Tinkerer 10-17-2010 08:24 PM

What bothers me is why were your exhaust tips moving in and out allmost 3 inches when you were wave hoping.
does the boat have soft stringers or transom?

It was the camera not the exhaust tips. Cool vid!!

Outkast Rafe 10-17-2010 08:53 PM

is that a gopro?

UrbanDisturbance 10-18-2010 07:00 PM

If that's a gopro camera, I'm getting one for next year.

tfarmer 10-18-2010 08:57 PM

Good job. I love my Go-Pro.

MC-BOYS 10-18-2010 08:59 PM

Pretty cool video. Nice job editing. What kind of camera is that?

carter38 10-18-2010 11:48 PM

I need to get one of them way cool.

TW720HVY 10-22-2010 09:24 AM

Guys... sorry for taking so long to get back to this thread and thanks for watching it! :coolcowboy:

The camera that I am using is the GoPro HD Motor Sports

http://www.goprocamera.com/products/...ero-camera.php

The mount I was using this day was the suction cup that can be mounted on a small airplane. I think I can hang from it that is how strong it is. I also posted other videos of our friends' 33 and 35 and in those I used the 3M tape mount. In fact I kept re-using it all day and it never lost the sticking power. But with that being said I would not trust the tape on the sides or transom.

The boat is a 2011 26 Outlaw that is a stringer. I will have to go back and look, but I do not think my tips where moving.

Hope this answers some questions. Oh and the editing was done with iMovie on my MacBook.

I went back to look at the video and it is an optical illusion of the shadows coming through the swim platform along with a little movement in the camera.

Don't scare me like that. :lolhit:

That was one of the best boat videos I have ever seen! I loved the trailer scenes, the underwater stuff and the editing. It kinda wraps up this season and puts it to an end. A little sad to see this year end for us. It been a blast. Good job.

grapeape93 10-24-2010 08:25 AM

hero

Thanks guys for the kind words... it is a little sad to see the season come to an end.

Back4More 10-27-2010 08:30 PM

That was cool! Going to share that one with the buds.

TW720HVY 10-28-2010 10:15 PM

Back4More thanks! I hope it keeps us all going when the snow starts flying!

whoya 10-28-2010 11:33 PM

Thats funny with the exhaust tips going in and out. Is the suction mount on the camera moving in and out. It really looks like the tips are moving.

TexomaPowerboater 10-29-2010 01:50 PM

Sweet video, love the camera mounted way up front on the bow looking back. Makes the boat look MUCH bigger.

I do not believe anything is actually moving on the transom including the camera mount. I can hang on that thing, and you can see those big waves did not move it at all when it was on the bow. The sun light coming through the swim platform and the shadows moving from the waves moving the boat is causing optical illusion of the tips moving. But I will not lie, when it was pointed out... I worried a little. :lolhit:

Thanks... whenever I am feeling our boat is too small all I have to do is play the video, she looks like a monster. :evilb:

whataride 12-12-2010 11:08 AM

I liked your videos so much i just ordered a go pro .. Which mount are you using and do you have a safety tether on the camera in case the mount fails ?

bigboat28 12-29-2010 02:18 PM

Nice job I like that.

JMS322 12-29-2010 02:51 PM

That was a lot of noise! :evilb:

Next year we'll have to get closer to each other and get the camera on your boat. :evilb:

Awesome video!!! I posted the same comment on you tube...but it sure makes me homesick. We are getting ready to kick the season off here in Florida but I am absolutely jonesing for some serious time on LOTO this summer!!!! Thanks again for sharing!

Sport 280 01-29-2011 12:04 PM

Great video, do you have a source for the "small airplane mount". Have not used my video much for lack of a good mounting system.

Thanks again for a great winter break.

Glad I could share it with you... hopefully you can make it up North so you can get your fix.

This kit has a serious suction cup mount that you can hang from. I would call the company (goPro) directly and talk to them. But I am sure the mount will work on small (slower) piston aircraft. Some of these newer light airplanes have some serious speed.

Hope this answers your question.

cpiefer06 03-02-2011 07:46 PM

Going to be ordering one as well. That was really neat.

Plowtownmissile 03-02-2011 09:02 PM

Just saw the video and it was awesome! I rarely watch an entire 7 minute video but if that had been an hour long, I'd of watched every second.

You got me sold on the GoPro. I'm ordering one.

WOW! Thank you very much guys! :drink:

I have really come to enjoy this video editing, I will sit at home thinking of the spot on the boat to mount it or next angle that may work. LOL and I am always looking for new music.

Thanks again! :drink:
