The problem is that you can't kill 80% of them. We have such a problem with them it's mindboggling. We have game cams at the local country club by my shop in Magnolia and go night hunting them with pitbulls all the time. The only folks who'll take the kill are the local Mexicans. Truth is their only good eating when they're small. They destroy the golf course and property owners yards.
Quite honestly the State of Texas should do something about it because there aren't enough hog hunters to even put a dent in the population around here. They have a great area in the wetlands behind all these new developments where Lake Creek meets Mound Creek and the San Jacinto River.
People, it's really really bad.
