Wow, not impressed. Thanks for the heads up. I do not think even the kids would be happy with that.

I saw some comparisons on U-tube, didn't seem that bad. but that was the first one I saw that was power boating, definately showed the flaws. guess I will spend at least the $200 for the white edition.

I think the silver edition gave you a wider field of view and the better lense of the black, just not the higher resolution. I will look into those two. Once the boat is running anyways....

Thanks for all the replies. I have a First generation Go Pro but I'm looking for a hand held digital that has a review screen and is user friendly enough so I can hand it to anyone, show them a couple of simple steps and have them shoot vids of me at the helm, the shore line, other boats, etc.

The $200 go pro still beats anything on the market, comes with a water tight case and mount tabs, and is the resolution most will use every day. The optional suction cup mount is so good some run it below the water line. Unless you are making studio quality movies I don't think you will use the res of the black. The go pro simply can't be beat.

Buy them both at wal mart, down load the smart phone app, run them both and take back what you don't like

They uploaded that video at 480 resolution. At 720 the video quality is much better.

I went with the Innovation Drift because at the time Go Pro didn't have a screen(came out a month later), external microphone and a remote which was a huge plus. I have the older 720 version but here is their latest and greatest.

It's my video, I uploaded it at 480 because the file size was half of the 720 yet I couldn't see the difference in quality.

For action stuff the Kodak just sucks, however for slow moving applications I like it because the lens is straight compared the the fish eye on my go pro

I have an older Kodak Playful and it seems okay for action but I don't use it alot. I know the video quality is much better than your youtube video.

I hear ya on the "fish-eye" from the wide angle lens on the go-pro. Drives me nuts. I think you can adjust the lens angle on the newer ones.
