Looking on Lanier

Starting to make retirement plans.Have to retire at 60 as a pilot in the airline business and if I wait too long I probably will not be able to afford a place in 17 years.Probably can't now but I am on the lookout.Looking for a reasonable lot with dock privlidges or a small starter home on the lake with dock. Was going to go to FL but I do not want to deal with the Hurricanes.Give me your ideas and inputs. Thanks
Mark

Re: Looking on Lanier

The prices on Lanier have gone up exponentially the last few years. You may be able to find something up on Hartwell a little more reasonable. Otherwise you may be forced to look at a shack :drink:

Re: Looking on Lanier

fishhead, what price range are you looking for? I know someone who sells exclusively on Lake Lanier if you are interested. They are still affordable now, however when the dock permits run out, it will be a different story.

Yeah, what TwinScrews said. That is why I am looking currently, maybe to return sooner rather than later.

If you want a vaca cottage with lake access, this is the best price on something new and has a basement.

We defintely need to meet up, if I make it. Going to NY in a few days, so I'm sure I'll be busy when I get back.

I'll try to find out where's the best place to watch.

You can reach me on my cell (770) 654-5632.

Hey Rotti, you know I'm in town lot shopping Thurs-Fri. If one of those sell before I get there I might have to ram the Benz into your truck. Don't laugh I could pop a tire or something. :D

We are going to the races in Chattanooga Sun. I assume you are too?

Re: Looking on Lanier

Well, I have made a decision(I think). I'm not gonna jinx it, but here are some more lots to check.

Rogers bay- Gainesville-12 lots, all about 1 acre+ with 12 slip dock. 195k and up.

Overlook on Lanier- Gainesville- 6 lots- all 2+ acres w'6 slip dock. 200k and up

Stratford on Lanier- gaines/cumming- .65 acre lot with 1 acre corp property, single slip LARGE covered dock. 128k

I have chosen another subdivision, but not the exact lot, so I'll post later this week.

I was reminded how much I like that lake. Rbr2328 and I went out in a 32' Spectre on Sat. morning and it was just perfect. I look forward to returning......
