Solomons / Pax River hangouts
Where are some good places to hang out on the Pax? I'm looking for good places to anchor / beach and swim.
|
Not much Dave. Battle Creek is where everyone goes to get out on the beach and swim. It is salt water and their are Jelly Fish. If you go father up the Patuxent, past the Benidict bridge, the rivers narrows down and their is a State Park at Magurders Ferry, that has a boat ramp and a small beach.

Thanks Randy!
I guess I'll have to make the best of things at the Tiki Bar. :ernaehrung004: |
Vera's isn't bad either if you have a group of people.
|
Where is Vera"s,I am going to be up that way on the 19th,but sadly boatless, and looking to have fun with people that are related to Otis from the Andy Griffith show.
|
Take Rt 4 south towards Solomons Island. About 10 miles south of Prince Fredrick, turn right at the big sign that says Veras Whitesands. Follow road to the end will take you right to it. Your in Mayberry.

I wouldn't recomend going to vera's by car. its a fun stop by boat, but you wouldn't want to spend the entire evening there. Go to solomons, eat some dinner at solomons pier and then go get some mai tai's at tiki. |
I was wondering if there will be any other town drunks from this site partying that weekend at the TIki. Since the boat is disabled I am taking the time to explore future hang over sites. The other I was considering was to go up to Red Eyes that weekend. Whach yaw think?

We'll be in ocean city that weekend. I'll be down at tiki this thursday night though.

I may be down at stoneys on broomes island...

Battle creek, still has 1 sand bar that we are allowed to use, but that fills up quick with boats. Jellies are in St leonards already, not sure how far they made it up the river. They never go up past benidict bridge. However the water up that far is pretty nasty. Dont wear white swim shorts .... They will be brown when you get out of the water. So will your hull. |

Mill creek, Cuckhold Creek, St Leonards Creek are great spots to anchor.

I know what your saying about the water, the Potomac is the same. You have to go pretty far south to get good water, but then have to deal with the jellies. |

I think I've been to the sand bar at the mouth of Battle creek, if it's the same one.
