upper chesapeake poker run choice on 6/19/2010

:drink:little help guys, picking up a new boat first of the week and want to do my first poker run. On the 18th they have thunder on the chesapeake, entry 650 or the upper chesapeake at Tomes Landing for 350, any sugestions

if this will be your first poker run i suggest the tomes run because it's more laid back, the poker run that's comming out of the nauti-goose is also a good one but lot's of high dollar big boys over there and it's an overnighter.

What new boat did you buy? The Tomes Run will be a good time for a good cause.

bought a 98 outerlimits Stiletto, pretty excited, coming out of a sportfish

I did the thunder on the bay two years ago. It was my first poker run as well as everyones that was on my boat. It was a great experience with some great people. It is a long run but a great one.

the Tomes run benefits the local fire dept which goes to equipment purchases (boats) that could save your life one day. the other run does only benefits the person who organizes the run. i would be doing the Tomes run this year (again) if it wasn't falling on fathers day weekend. :(

I believe that the North East MD fire dept. benefits from the Thunder on the Bay.

ALL of the $$ from the Tomes Run goes to the fire dept.

In the past the promoter from thunder on the bay and rock the bay has given half of the 50/50 raffle $$ to a charity......the rest of the $$ goes in his pocket.

I'm trying to figure out what/where i am going this weekend. You guys going anywhere? Tully? I might make a run to Chess Inn or just get a slip at PMC for the weekend to hang out. Obviously, I have no idea what i am doing. :lolhit:

I would agree on the Northern Chesapeake Run out of Tomes for you 1st run. I am helping to co-captain a 1st timer in his new to him 33' AVS Scarab. There are boats of all sizes and you can choose to run with. And the cost does not break the bank. Very resonable entry fee and like they said before me is goes to a great cause. And you can come on down Friday from 6-9PM and sign up. Link is here. www.ncbpr.com
But hey if you want to run with some big boys Thunder on the Bay is a good run too. We had fun two years ago on that one also. Good Luck.!
