Shark on the Potomac?!

http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/we...101987408.html

Not trying to jump on a bandwagon here, but while on the Potomac last weekend near Fairview Beach, I did see something 'large' surface with what could have been a dorsal fin. I dismissed it quickly figuring I just saw a big Catfish or something.

However, I now I am curious if what I saw and this Shark coincide.

That shark was caught a long way from Fairview on the south end of the Potomac near Point Lookout.
What you saw at Fairview Beach was probably Seltzer swimming on his back:evilb:
How else could he get a woman that looks as good as Susan?

Bull shark killed a kid in Virginia Beach a couple years back. In very shallow water.

My Addiction 09-02-2010 10:09 PM

I would think the lack of salt would keep those creatures away from Fairview and other hot spots on the northern Potomac.
No jelly fish, no sharks, am I right on this or just giving myself a false sense of security?

Sydwayz 09-02-2010 10:39 PM

Bull Sharks can tolerate fresh water.

Most of the time the water at Fairview is brackish. If we get alot of rain it tends to get less salty. But I have noticed that the crab pots are being placed as far north in the river as I have ever seen them. The island in front of Tyme N Tyde marina.
