Dave M 06-09-2011 11:22 AM

Pretty sure the bay bridge is going to do the same.

seltzer 06-09-2011 11:35 AM

Harry Nice isnt very nice.

seltzer 06-09-2011 11:36 AM

Its still free to go under

Beak Boater 06-09-2011 12:02 PM

I think they should charge the people that come from Va. twice as much.

Jpzaluski 06-09-2011 12:05 PM

I think they shouldn't let the people in MD even come into VA

Shah Mat 06-09-2011 12:06 PM

Harry nice must have been a SMIB.....

They keep raising that toll, and you will get your wish.

Typical mentality from someone on your side of the river. :lolhit:

Beak Boater 06-09-2011 02:56 PM

I wouldnt call it typical.....just my point of view:lolhit:

marylandmark 06-09-2011 03:12 PM

Sad thing is it will still be less expensive for smokers to travel to VA to get their fix.

Maryland politics at their best!

seltzer 06-09-2011 09:15 PM

I thought Md was the "Free State"

Beak Boater 06-10-2011 06:47 AM

It is......when you come across the bridge from Va. to Md. its free. Thats about the only thing thats free though.

It is:

If you don't work, you get every thing for free.

You work, the state is free to take as much of it as they want.

That Beak Boater guy must have retired good, every one else I know had to head south when they retired so they didn't have to go back to work.

45sonic 06-10-2011 11:45 AM

Still don't understand why it is only a toll from MD to VA and not both ways.

My guess would be that it lowers overhead. Less booths, employees. It's more cost effective to charge (2X) once.

dreamboater 06-10-2011 12:14 PM

This really sucks for those that travel the bridge every day. Wonder how it will effect the ezpass deal

The .60 rate is going up to $1.50 on 10/1/11 and then $2.80 on 10/1/13.

Make more than 8 trips in 45 days it is better to have an EZ pass.

I gave mine up when they started charging $1.50/month to have it since I only crossed twice in 2009 and once in 2010.

45sonic 06-10-2011 08:55 PM

Hey Mark if you'd get out more and join in the fun it would be useful lol. Or just get one from Va they don't charge for theirs.

seltzer 06-12-2011 10:11 PM

I can get you one out of a junker. shhhh

Yea, yea... I've been out once for about 3 hours so far this year. 39 gallons of fuel burnt, could be a cheap Summer.

Thanks for the VA advice, may just do that!

I flew to Myrtle Beach for the weekend. I can leave DC at 6AM, be in Myrtle on the ground out of the airport by 7:30AM and then come home at 10PM, cross to the good side over the WW bridge by Midnight. Hard to pass that up to hang out with your types. LOL! Been to Myrtle 2 times in 12 days and pissed I have golf tournaments the next 2 Fridays that I can't go back.

45sonic 06-13-2011 01:34 PM

I hear ya Mark, wish I could free up some of my weekends to do the same. But for now I'll just hang with the SOMD crowd and those who dare to cross the river :)
